A pallet truck, also known as a pallet jack or pallet mover, is a manually operated material handling device used for moving palletized loads within a warehouse, distribution center, or other industrial settings. It is designed to lift and transport pallets in a horizontal direction, making it easier to move heavy or bulky loads.A pallet truck consists of two forks or blades that are inserted beneath a pallet. These forks are typically made of steel and have a tapered shape to easily fit into pallet openings. The pallet truck is equipped with a pump handle, which is used to manually pump hydraulic pressure into the lifting mechanism. This pressure elevates the forks and raises the pallet off the ground. : Pallet trucks come in various load capacities, ranging from lighter-duty models for smaller loads to heavy-duty models capable of handling larger and heavier loads. Pallet trucks have two small wheels located at the front, known as steer wheels or load wheels. These wheels allow the operator to maneuver the pallet truck smoothly while carrying a load. Some pallet truck models have a load backrest, which is a vertical plate attached to the forks at the rear. The load backrest helps prevent the load from slipping backward during transport.
